Why Truck Driving?
To pursue a career in truck driving, you'll need to earn a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). To drive a tractor-trailer, commonly known as an 18-wheeler, you must first obtain a Class A CDL. This will open the door to becoming an over-the-road truck driver, where you'll gain the experience needed to transition into a local driving career.
The U.S. trucking industry is expected to need over 1 million new drivers by 2030 due to retirements and growing demand for freight transportation. The average salary for a long-haul truck driver is around $50,000 to $80,000 per year, with potential to earn even more based on experience, type of freight, and location.
Will you be certified?
Of course! And it'll look great on your resume :-)
